so far two gigs are announced:
the gig in Mexico on March 22 (the same day with Anneke, full concert)

Image

And in Helsinki (I do not understand when exactly, but before Mexico gig)

Topic in the Finnish part
viewtopic.php?f=48&t=599

links:
http://www.pressa.fi/fi/ohjelma.html?sivu=3

http://www.soundi.fi/uutiset/kurkistus- ... ca-ja-pmmp

Jonsu said something in an interview (the second link)
Will anybody be so kind to translate it?

Quote:
Pitkään hiljaiseloa ainakin yleisön suuntaan viettänyt Indica on myös aktivoitumaan päin.

- Tosiaan, päätämme ikuisuudelta tuntuneen kahden vuoden keikkatauon, sillä uusi albumi ilmestyy huhtikuussa. Ollaan puurrettu uuden musiikin parissa Suomi-Saksa -akselilla viimeiset pari vuotta. Levyn tuottajana toimii Roland Spremberg, joka oli jo mukana tuottamassa muutamaa kappaletta viime levyllä. Keikkoja on siis luvassa huhtikuun aikoihin pitkäsoiton ilmestymisen myötä, sanoo laulaja Johanna "Jonsu" Salomaa.

And as I've understood via google, the album will be in April, won’t it?

So the release will be after gigs, and at these gigs new songs will be probably played.

Mexico and Finland fans, we hope for videos / photos!!!!

Jonsu says approximately: Yes, we're finally ending the two-year gig break that never seemed to end, since the new album comes out in April. We've been working on new music in Finland and Germany for the last couple of years. The album will be produced by Roland Spremberg, who produced a couple of songs on the last album. We'll start doing gigs around April as the new album comes out.

The Helsinki gig is *not* before Mexico City, and not until May. The exact date is 17th May.

Personally I have a very strong feeling I'm off to Mexico City in March.

The gig in Helsinki is in May, eh? Schoolwork will probably keep me busy, but I'll try to haul myself over to the gig, though it's a longshot.

May 17th? Sounds great, i hope that Finnish and Mexico Fans will make some videos and photos. Btw. Why there is nothing about these two shows on indica-music.com or contrapromotion?

Directly from the bowels of The Gathering, Anneke, considered one of the most cheerful and attractive heavy metal vocalists will visit Mexico again, only now with her solo project.

The Dutch is launching a new stage in her life, leaving behind 15 materials with The Gathering, between disks and dvd's, In Parallel with Daniel Cavanagh (Anathema) and their four albums with Agua de Annique; still Everything Is Changing is her most recent plate, but this time under her own name Anneke Van Giersbergen*. This disc tilted to alternative rock.

Precisely this material, as well as what Anneke considers the best of what has been done previously (with Agua), the basis of their setlist in their presentations, which have been highlighted as being of electro-acoustic, leaving aside the stridency. It will be the way in which the blonde will come to Mexico, not to the flying circus as previous times, now to the Plaza Condesa on March 22.

In this new experience she will not be alone, since she would be accompanied by the Finnish group Indica, women's band that specializes in mixing alternative rock, symphonic metal and lyrics of fantasy in an environment that Tim Burton or J.R.R. Tolkien would like as background for storytelling.

Their album A Way Away is the clear example, spinning a story between track and track, highlighting "Precious Dark", "Islands Of Light" and "In Passing" chanted by beautiful vocalist Jonsu.

*The band members are the same as in Agua de Annique

Translated by bing, slightly modified.

lilly, thanks! If you know Spanish, then modified ping transaltion is reliable...

I still remember how google translated that Jonsu became Heini's child "sponsor" instead of "godmother" :D

I wonder whose idea it was (Mexico gig) and who actually made it possible

Honestly, I doubt they will do a gig in the United States. It seems like there are hardly any fans in the US. Also, the US music scene is so poisoned by "popular" garbage it's hard to get anything into the country without autoimmune, rap beats, or overly sexual lyrics.

I'm pretty sure there will be photos at least - not by me, though.

The place was nothing like I'd imagined. The equivalent buildings of other Finnish military areas (I'm too tired to find out proper expressions at this point) I've been to are small and crappy, but this one was quite frankly a better setting for a gig than 50% of the places I've seen Indica perform at. It had an actual *stage* and a lot of room, although the "room" was filled with chairs. This led to people sitting down during the first song, but then Jonsu commanded the soldier boys to stand up instead, and stand up they did. We were continually exposed to low-quality sex-related humor by Jonsu, which was unsurprisingly well-received. I think that as far audiences go this one was pretty decent - at least I remember Jonsu thanking us more profusely than usual at the end of the gig. Or maybe she was just happy to be doing gigs again.

The following songs were played (I think this was the first time ever I've actually forgotten about trying to get a set list):

Elä
Scarlett
Vuorien Taa
Pidä Kädestä
Kersantti Karoliina
Kummajaisten Joukko
Unten Laiva
Ikuinen Virta
Noita
Ulkona
Pahinta Tänään
Encore: Vettä Vasten

Noita and Laivat were nice surprises. I liked both Emppu's guitaring (that's probably not a word) and her stage presence. She doesn't smile like Jenny, though, but that's impossible in any case, so let's not fault her for it; anyway, the job is to play the guitar.

Only 2 weeks 'til Mexico. It's hard to believe.

*Edit*: oh, the shame! Just listened to Valoissa and remembered didn't put it on the list. And the picture of me (background) is nice; Indica on the foreground is nice, too.

Nico, thanks for report!

no new songs, no English songs. But nice gig, as I understood.

A photo after the gig:

I can scarcely believe my luck: for once I'm trying to fly somewhere I actually want to go, and the airport staff on the way decide to go on strike (that was announced hardly 12 hours before its start), thus cancelling my flight. It's fortunate Indica is not flying through Germany, hence they won't have the same problems getting to México. I'm still not sure if I'll actually get all the way there, but after having worried myself sick about it ever since I found out about the strike I decided I have to try. Wish me luck. :(

Slight OT, but forgive me; I really, really needed to vent.

That's really tough luck. Hope you'll be able to make it to the gig.

Thanks for the support. I'm here (MCity) now, so no problems (anymore), unless I fail to redeem my ticket and it's sold out...

I'll try to edit in a report or a "report" later.

Yes, in Segeli again. This time there will be no Emppu, though, as Alavala has a gig at the same time.

I wanted to make it to one of the acoustic gigs, but my mother didn't let me. I hope there will soon be a new tour announced. Atleast after the next album.
