Well, since we don't have any official off-topics thread here, I'm starting this one. Here You can talk about anything and everything. You can just post random stuff that don't fit anywhere and/or leave comments about something or nothing.

So, for the first post in this thread, I wish you all the very best in the new year! Cheers! Skål! Prost! Živjeli!

As I read, Simone Simons deleted her youtube account because of haters...

Well, here is some analysis in answer to your question.

-Things like Facebook, YouTube, imageboards etc. nowadays draw people away from forums like this, it seems to me. Especially Facebook, I think.

-Indica has had a longish period of low activity.

-Indica's old forum went down, and people will need to reregister in order to post here, which takes a little bit of effort.

-For a significant period of time, the registering link for this forum was disabled, apparently for site maintenance reasons. I managed to register by emailing the administrators, and they activated the registering for a little while so that I could register, and then it still took a few days for them to activate my account before I could post. Anyone else who might have wanted to make an account and post during that time was out of luck unless they were willing to be as persistent as me, I guess. Thankfully, the registering link seems to be available again now.

yes I also think it's probably because there are no Indica related news and there probably won't be any until the new album comes out in 2020...

Hey, at least there are 3 new songs available now as crappy quality live recordings. I, for one, got quite excited because of those little scraps they gave us. Actually that's why I bothered to register here in this new forum. Too bad that the vast majority of people won't care as much about such low-quality things...

But really, I think Facebook eating away at potential users is also a significant factor. I personally pretty much hate Facebook, but even I have an account because of "outside pressure" things like Indica posting most news there nowadays etc.

After I found a way to confuse the spambots, so I re-allowed registrations.

I love how easy Facebook makes it to organize. It's all about convenience I guess, and I don't think it draws people away. People will at least join Facebook groups if they are to lazy to come to a forum.

Which is the biggest reason I abhor them. Even on the forum you're bound to get a whole lot of people who seem to mostly wander in by accident, but at least there's the tiny bother of registering to deter the influx of randomites. In an FB group there's very little (aside from active moderation, I guess) to prevent you from getting a gazillion people, most of whom don't give a crap about that which supposedly brought the people together. Since I'm incredibly touchy and elitist when it comes to Indica, I mainly keep to the forum.

Well, in my opinion some part of those "randomites" would probably be more or less valuable posters in some way, but seems to me like that "baby" is lost with the "bathwater" too.

But my reason for disliking Facebook is mostly personal... I'm just such an introverted nerd, or something like that.

I know this feeling. I wouldn't say elitist, but more a purist. That's a good thing.

Just popping in to say hi to everyone. Haven't been here a while, courtesy of unpaid Internet bills.

I didn't know what was even out yet. Not sure if I should be glad that it is not in English or not.

It's in English. If IMDB is lying then I'm lying too, also the actors are British if I'm not mistaken.

Just be sure to NOT post any download links here if it was a torrent. I'm not implying anything, or trying to tell you where to get your files, we just don't want links to stuff on this site ;) .

As the weather grows warm around here and you'd think people started shedding their last layers of clothing, looking around gives me the impression that I'm pretty much the only one who realizes it's not winter anymore. Happens every year.

Also, The Sword of Truth is one of the best fantasy novel series I've read. I'm reading it for the 3rd time now, yet it seems engaging as ever. This is one of those rare cases where watching the movie (or in this case the TV series) is not enough.

Oh, you're reading The Sword of Truth :) This is my favorite fantasy novel series. It's absolutely fantastic! I've watched the TV series based on The Sword of Truth and it's also really cool, but not as nice as the books. And I also like The Low of Nines very much.

I've been not writing here yet, but I decided to write something to integrate with the rest of Indica fans.
