This is my airsoft uniform. (It would look cooler, but I'm not supposed to have my guns where I took this picture.) I know no one where I play will know what Indica is, and I kind of like the mysteriousness of it. Do you ever show off any Indica stuff?

The Watchlord sees all and comes in the night; the black owl that will leave you as cold as a child of frost.

Ooooh, that's some serious stuff you got there. Is that amount of armour really necessary? Seems to me it's not the most practical piece of clothing to move around in. But then again, I've never really played airsoft :D

Actually yes. Unlike paintball, serious airsoft is considered "milsim" (Military Simulation). The guns are made to operate as close to the real thing as possible and the fields are set up like real battle fields. So, naturally, the same stuff that works for the real military works for us. I wear a black tactical uniform because I play in the dark mostly. I wear the vest because I need to hold magazines, batteries, pistols, etc. and it comes with a neck and crotch protector. I wear a helmet because it hurts getting hit in the head. Goggles and masks are mandatory for safety. The only things that are purely for show are the shoulder pads and the face sheild. On the contrary, it's tactical gear, so it's made to do it's job and not restrict movement. I can run just as fast, and since I have kneepads, dive and slide like I often have to do. This isn't backyard airsoft like kids play with cheap Walmart guns. Our guns shoot about twice as hard, so it gets serious pretty quickly.

I have worn a real flak vest before, it was heavy, but saved me from getting a broken rib.

Here is an example of what I do

Nice outfit! Personally I had enough of war games for one lifetime during my compulsory military service a couple of years ago. The difference probably is that what you do may be fun.

Whenever I give presentations in conferences outside Finland, I try to wear something Indica-related. It's a ritual that few attendees (i.e. none) understand.

I understand. We actually have a lot of combat veterens that play. They say it's the closest they an get to the real thing and they love it.

I wore my Indica shirt once. I don't wear it anymore because I'm afraid washing it will cause it to fade.

I don't yet have any fanstuff. I own 2 copies of kadonnut puutarha, one valoissa, and one ikuinen virta. But, yes my friends knows about them even without cool t-shirts etc.
